3,000 Kg Heroin Seizure Case: ED Nabs Prime Suspect Harpreet Talwar
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Harpreet Talwar, the prime accused in the high-profile 3,000 kg heroin seizure case linked to Gujarat’s Mundra Port. The arrest marks a significant development in one of India’s largest narcotics investigations.
According to officials, Talwar was taken into custody under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) as part of the agency’s ongoing probe into the financial trail connected to the massive drug haul. Investigators believe the accused played a key role in the alleged narcotics trafficking network and the laundering of proceeds generated from the illegal trade.
The 3,000 kg heroin consignment was seized at Mundra Port in 2021, triggering investigations by multiple central agencies. The ED has been tracking the money trail, identifying assets, and examining individuals allegedly linked to the international drug syndicate.
Officials said the investigation is continuing, and further arrests or action against other suspects may follow as the agency uncovers additional evidence in the case
