PAU-KVK Sangrur organizes awareness camp on fermented organic manures in village Bhattiwal Kalan

Bhawanigarh, June 29

The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Sangrur of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), under the leadership of Dr. Mandeep Singh, Incharge (Training), organized an awareness and training camp on fermented organic manure (FOM) and liquid fermented organic manure (LFOM) in village Bhattiwal Kalan, Block Bhawanigarh.

The objective of this camp was to make farmers aware of low-cost and environment-friendly nutrient management techniques and to promote sustainable agriculture.

On this occasion, Dr. Rukinderpreet Singh Dhaliwal, Assistant Professor (Agronomy), PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sangrur gave detailed information about the importance of fermented organic manures.

He explained that these fertilizers improve soil fertility and health, increase the availability of nutrients for plants, and help reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers. He also shared information on the method of preparing fermented organic fertilizer and liquid fermented organic manure, their application method, and benefits in increasing crop yield and long-term fertility of soil.

Officials from the Agriculture Department encouraged farmers to sow kharif season maize for crop diversification and explained the process of registration on the online portal to avail financial benefits.

A large number of farmers participated in this training camp and had open discussions with experts regarding the preparation and use of fermented organic manures.

Farmers appreciated this initiative by PAU-KVK, Sangrur and expressed interest in adopting these low-cost, eco-friendly techniques for sustainable and more profitable farming.
