Punjab Weather Alert: IMD Predicts Thunderstorms from July 1, Heavy Rainfall Likely Between July 2 and 4
Chandigarh: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a significant change in weather conditions across Punjab over the coming days. According to the latest forecast, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and rainfall are expected from July 1, while heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely across several parts of the state between July 2 and July 4.
The IMD has warned that intense rain, strong winds, and lightning may lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas and could disrupt normal life in some districts. Residents have been advised to stay updated with official weather advisories and take necessary precautions during the period of adverse weather.
Farmers have also been urged to plan agricultural activities in accordance with the weather forecast to minimize potential crop damage. Authorities are monitoring the situation and have asked local administrations to remain prepared for any weather-related emergencies.
The expected rainfall is likely to bring relief from the prevailing heat and humidity, with temperatures anticipated to drop across much of Punjab during the week.
