Chandigarh: The Punjab Government is preparing to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) education across government schools starting next month, marking a significant step toward modernizing the state’s education system.

The proposed curriculum is aimed at helping students understand emerging technologies and develop essential digital skills from an early stage. Through AI-focused lessons, students are expected to gain foundational knowledge of concepts such as machine learning, data analysis, automation, and the responsible use of technology.

Education officials believe the initiative will better equip students for future academic opportunities and careers in an increasingly technology-driven world. By integrating AI into classroom learning, the state hopes to bridge the digital skills gap and prepare young learners for evolving industry demands.

If implemented as planned, Punjab will become one of the first Indian states to introduce AI education on a statewide scale across its government school system. The move reflects a broader effort to align school education with the needs of the digital economy and future workforce.
