All voters of Patiala should extend full cooperation to BLOs during the Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls: Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal
Patiala, July 7:
Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer, Patiala, Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal has appealed to all voters in the district to extend full cooperation to Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. He said that for a strong democracy, it is essential that every eligible citizen is enrolled as a voter and that the electoral rolls remain accurate and updated.
The Deputy Commissioner said that, in accordance with the directions of the Election Commission of India, the process of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) has commenced in Patiala district. The primary objective of this exercise is to ensure that the electoral rolls are accurate, transparent and up to date.
Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal said that to successfully carry out this campaign, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are visiting households to distribute Enumeration Forms and verify voters’ details. He appealed to all voters to extend full cooperation to the BLOs by providing correct information whenever they visit their homes, adding that it is the responsibility of every conscientious citizen.
The District Election Officer further urged voters to carefully fill in the Enumeration Forms provided by the BLOs and submit them within the stipulated time, as the revision exercise is time-bound. He also appealed to citizens to keep the required documents of all family members ready in advance so that the forms can be completed without any inconvenience.
Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal said that every vote is valuable and even the smallest contribution by every citizen will help make Patiala’s electoral rolls 100 per cent accurate, updated and error-free. He called upon all voters to discharge their responsibility as responsible citizens by actively participating in the SIR campaign and contributing to its successful implementation.
