Punjab Government Announces Major IAS Reshuffle; Key Administrative Appointments Issued
The Punjab Government has carried out a fresh reshuffle in the state bureaucracy, assigning new responsibilities to several Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across key departments.
As per the latest administrative orders, Neelima (IAS, 2008 batch) has been appointed as Secretary, Personnel. She has also been given the additional responsibility of Secretary, Vigilance.
Sakshi Sawhney (IAS, 2014 batch) has been designated as Special Secretary, Health & Family Welfare. In addition to this role, she will continue as Mission Director of the National Health Mission (NHM), Punjab, and has also been assigned the responsibility of Nodal Officer for the state’s Anti-Drug Campaign.
Sandeep Rishi (IAS, 2015 batch) has been transferred to the Housing & Urban Development Department and will now serve as Chief Administrator of the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA).
Parminder Pal Singh (IAS, 2016 batch) has been posted as Special Secretary, Home Affairs.
Neeru Katyal Gupta (IAS, 2016 batch) has been appointed Chief Administrator of the Punjab Urban Planning & Development Authority (PUDA). She will also hold the additional charge of Director, Town & Country Planning.
Among the recent postings, Nikas Kumar (IAS, 2020 batch) has been named Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar.
Sonam (IAS, 2023 batch) has been appointed Additional Commissioner, Taxation-I, Patiala, while continuing to discharge her existing duties as Joint Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, Patiala.
Rakesh Kumar Meena (IAS, 2023 batch) has been posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Hoshiarpur.
The latest administrative changes are aimed at strengthening governance and ensuring effective functioning across important departments and public institutions in Punjab.
