Documentary based on the life and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj screened in 86 villages of Patiala district so far — Deputy Commissioner
As part of the Punjab Government’s initiative to commemorate the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj with devotion and reverence, a special documentary prepared to acquaint people with the life and teachings of the Guru has so far been screened for residents of 86 villages in Patiala district.
Disclosing this, Deputy Commissioner of Patiala, Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, said that the special documentary conveying the message of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj is being watched with great enthusiasm by people in 8 villages every day.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had flagged off these special vans from Sangrur. Through these vans, the 30-minute documentary based on the life, philosophy, and sacred teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj is being screened in villages of Nabha, Samana, Sanaur, and Rajpura blocks.
He said that last night, the documentary was screened in Joginder Nagar and Bakraha villages of Samana block, Chheetanwala and Himmatwala villages of Nabha block, Khudda village of Sanaur block, and Nalas Khurd and Kotla villages of Rajpura block. A large number of villagers are watching the documentary and drawing inspiration from the message of equality, social justice, devotion to God, and universal brotherhood propagated by Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj.
Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal said that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is celebrating the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj with enthusiasm and devotion. He said that this specially prepared documentary is carrying the eternal message of Guru Sahib to every corner of the state.
He further said that the documentary will be screened in every village of Patiala district so that people from all sections of society, especially the younger generation, can become acquainted with the life, ideology, and vision of an egalitarian society propounded by Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj.
During the screenings, the villagers appreciated the efforts of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. They said that the documentary is a true tribute to Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj and that such initiatives will play an important role in strengthening communal harmony and connecting the younger generation with the lives and ideals of their great Gurus.
On this occasion, Panchayati representatives, social workers, religious personalities, and a large number of villagers were present.
On July 21, at 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM, the documentary will be screened in Kartarpur and Gobindpura villages of Samana block, Sadoheri and Laddaheri villages of Nabha block, Balbera and Bilaspur villages of Sanaur block, and Sural Kalan and Sural Khurd villages of Rajpura block.
