Sangrur Police Organises ‘Samadhan Camp’ for Prompt and Transparent Redressal of Public Grievances in Accordance with the Law
With the objective of providing better, responsive and citizen-friendly policing services at the doorstep of the people, the Sangrur Police has been regularly organising ‘Samadhan Camps’ across all police stations and sub-divisions of the district. Through these camps, public complaints and grievances are heard on the spot and resolved in a fair, transparent and time-bound manner in accordance with the law. The primary objective of this initiative is to strengthen public trust in the police, provide prompt relief to citizens, and make the policing system more accountable, transparent and accessible.
As part of this initiative, Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur, Dr. Ravjot Grewal, IPS, today visited a ‘Samadhan Camp’ organised at Swan Birdz under Sub-Division Dhuri, where she interacted directly with members of the public.
During the camp, residents from various villages and urban areas presented their complaints, grievances and suggestions before the SSP. Dr. Grewal heard each complaint carefully and directed the concerned police officers to examine every case strictly in accordance with the law and ensure its fair, transparent and timely disposal.
Addressing the gathering, the SSP said that the foremost priority of the Sangrur Police is to ensure justice for citizens, promptly resolve their genuine grievances, and make policing services more effective, transparent and people-centric. She emphasised that every complaint is dealt with impartially, transparently and strictly in accordance with the provisions of the law, without any discrimination or bias.
She further stated that these ‘Samadhan Camps’ save citizens from making repeated visits to government offices, as they get an opportunity to interact directly with senior police officers and present their grievances at a single location. This not only expedites the grievance redressal process but also strengthens public confidence in the police.
Dr. Grewal further said that, besides preventing crime, taking strict action against drug trafficking and other criminal activities, improving traffic management, and ensuring the safety of women, children and senior citizens, the Sangrur Police is equally committed to resolving the day-to-day concerns of the public in a prompt and efficient manner. She added that such ‘Samadhan Camps’ will continue to be organised regularly across different police stations and sub-divisions of the district to ensure that policing services remain easily accessible to every citizen.
Appealing to the residents of the district, the SSP urged them to make maximum use of these ‘Samadhan Camps’ for resolving any grievance, dispute or legal issue and to approach the police without hesitation whenever required. She said that public cooperation is the strongest foundation for building a crime-free, safe and peaceful society.
On this occasion, SP (Headquarters) Rajesh Chhibber, DSP Dhuri Gurpreet Singh, all SHOs of Sub-Division Dhuri, along with other officers, were present.
