MC Teams Deployed Across Patiala to Tackle Waterlogging -Deputy Commissioner and MCC Monitoring Situation Continuously

Following the ongoing rainfall in Patiala, six teams of the Municipal Corporation have been deployed across the city since early morning to ensure the swift clearance of waterlogging from roads and low-lying areas.

Acting on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Pooja Syal Grewal, the teams have been actively operating dewatering pumps and clearing storm water drains at vulnerable locations to facilitate the smooth movement of traffic and minimize inconvenience to residents.

The Deputy Commissioner and the Municipal Corporation Commissioner are continuously monitoring the situation and have directed officials to remain on alert until the rain subsides.

Municipal Corporation Commissioner Pooja Syal Grewal also personally visited several waterlogging-prone areas, including Phulkian Enclave, Tripuri, Bhasha Vibhag area, Chandni Chowk, Jacob Drain and other low-lying localities during the morning. She inspected the ongoing dewatering operations, reviewed the functioning of the Municipal Corporation teams on the ground and directed officials to ensure the quick clearance of accumulated rainwater. She also instructed field staff to remain deployed at vulnerable locations and respond promptly to any fresh instances of waterlogging as the rainfall continues.

Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal has appealed to citizens to cooperate with the field staff. The administration has assured that all necessary measures are being taken to address the situation and provide prompt relief wherever required.
