Dhuri, August 4:
Reaffirming the Punjab Government’s commitment to delivering citizen-centric governance, a ‘Lok Milni’ programme was organised at villages Ruldu Singh Wala and Bangawali under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. The initiative aims to ensure the time-bound and priority-based redressal of public grievances at the people’s doorstep.
On the occasion, OSD to the Chief Minister Sukhveer Singh and Chairman, Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation, Dalvir Singh Dhillon, heard the grievances and demands of the residents. They directed the officials of the concerned departments to take immediate action on issues that could be resolved on the spot and to ensure the expeditious disposal of the remaining cases.
Addressing the gathering, Sukhveer Singh and Dalvir Singh Dhillon said that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government has accorded the highest priority to providing corruption-free, transparent and accountable governance. They said that the objective of the ‘Lok Milni’ campaign is to take the Government to the doorsteps of the people instead of compelling them to visit government offices repeatedly, thereby ensuring timely justice and hassle-free delivery of public services.
Highlighting the Government’s welfare-oriented initiatives, they said that several landmark schemes have significantly improved the quality of life of the people across the State. Under the Mukh Mantri Mawan-Dheeyan Satkar Yojana, eligible women are being provided financial assistance, while the Zero Electricity Bill Scheme has brought substantial relief to lakhs of households. They further said that the network of Aam Aadmi Clinics is providing accessible and quality healthcare services, including free medicines and diagnostic tests, close to the homes of the people.
They further said that the Punjab Government is making sustained efforts to promote sports among the youth and steer them away from the menace of drugs by developing modern sports grounds and strengthening sports infrastructure in both rural and urban areas. Besides this, the Government is continuously taking progressive and people-centric decisions in the fields of education, healthcare, employment, infrastructure development and farmers’ welfare, ensuring that the benefits of these initiatives reach every section of society.
Appealing to the people to actively participate in the State’s development journey, they urged them to avail themselves of the maximum benefits of the welfare schemes launched by the Punjab Government and become active partners in the holistic development of their respective areas.
Among those present on the occasion were Zila Parishad Chairman Rachhpal Singh Bhullar, Block Samiti Chairman Charan Singh, Councillor Pushpinder Sharma, Sarpanch Amritpal Singh (Ghanouri Kalan), Sarpanch Manpreet Sharma (Jahangir), besides other eminent personalities.
