Diljit Dosanjh Breaks Silence After Satluj Is Removed From OTT: “I Knew This Could Happen”
Actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh has shared his first reaction after his film Satluj was taken off an OTT platform in India shortly after its digital premiere. Speaking during an online interaction with fans, Diljit said the development did not come as a surprise to him.
According to the actor, he had always believed there was a possibility that the film could face hurdles even after its release. He added that once a story reaches the audience, its impact cannot easily be erased, regardless of what happens later.
Satluj, which is inspired by the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, had already experienced a long journey before reaching viewers. The film reportedly underwent delays and changes before finally making its OTT debut.
Soon after the title became unavailable for Indian viewers, the streaming platform released a statement confirming that the film had been temporarily removed from its Indian catalogue. The platform also stated that it is exploring available legal options and hopes to make the film accessible again in the future.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many viewers expressing disappointment over the film’s removal. The situation has also renewed debate over creative freedom and the challenges faced by films dealing with sensitive subjects.
As of now, there has been no official announcement regarding when Satluj will return for streaming in India. Fans continue to await further updates from both the filmmakers and the OTT platform.
